If you’ve been paying attention, then you already know how we at Konbini feel about Adekunle Gold. He’s easily one of the best and most consistent Nigerian musicians working today, and his growth has been truly phenomenal to watch.
We’re currently still jamming his stellar sophomore album, About 30, and before the hype has even had time to die down, he’s taken a venture into the rap world with a refix of Drake’s “Emotionless” — one of the standouts off the Canadian rapper’s new album, Scorpion.
It looks like Adekunle Gold’s new bronze hair has brought out his rap alter ego — one we never knew existed — and while we’re not sure how we really feel about Adekunle the Rapper, the “Emotionless” refix is surprisingly enjoyable.
Shared on his instagram, the refix’s caption reads, “remember to have fun”, so this was probably just him messing around. That being said, he should definitely stick to his highlife-influenced afropop sound moving forward.
We don’t need ’emotionless’ Adekunle Gold, because he’s at his best when he wears his heart on his sleeve!
