Maleek Berry’s star deservedly keeps shining brighter with each passing day. From debuting at Jay-Z’s Made In America festival to landing two coveted MOBO nominations, 2017 is clearly the producer-turned-artiste’s year.
While the world is hyped for his upcoming debut album, we think his 2016 EP Last Daze of Summerstill has something special to offer. Most of the project’s tracks have already gotten stellar visuals, pushing them to a wider audience – the latest being “Let Me Know” and “Lost In The World”.
The underappreciated “Nuh Let Go” needs love too
One of the EP’s standout tracks and the last of two songs yet to get accompanying visuals is the brilliant“Nuh Let Go”. According to Maleek Berry, the song isn’t getting a music video unless Rihanna hops on it– which is too bad because it’s a monster hit waiting to happen.
Produced by Maleek himself, “Nuh Let Go” follows the EP’s trend of masking deceptively mushy love songs as dance numbers and while it’s not the mushiest on the project (that honour goes to “Let Me Know”) it’s definitely a very close second.
Brilliantly placed in the middle of “Let Me Know” and “Lost In The World” on the EP, the romantic “Nuh Let Go” plays like the missing piece in between the burgeoning love he sings about on the former and the heartbreak he croons about on the latter.
