The 19-year-old Paris Saint-Germain forward, who is the world’s most expensive teenage football player, received the ‘Best Young Player’ Award for his World Cup performance, scoring the fourth goal for France in the 65th minute of their final match against Croatia.

Mbappé made about $22,300 per match, and a reported $350,000 bonus for winning the final. This adds up to about $500,000, all of which he is donating to a French-based charity — Premiers de Cordée.

The charity, which was created in 1999, offers free sports initiatives to hospitalised children. The activities are led by qualified sportsmen who graciously volunteer their time to the cause, such as Mbappé himself.

Sebastien Ruffin, general manager of Premiers de Cordée, told Hypebeast that:

“Kylian, he’s a great person. When his schedule allows it, he intervenes for us with pleasure.

He has a very good [relationship] with children, he always finds the right [words] to encourage them.

I sometimes even feel that [he] takes more pleasure to play with the kids than the kids themselves.”

With his skills on the pitch and his generosity off it, we can’t get enough of this rising star!
