ven without an official single out yet, 2018 has undoubtedly been Wizkid’s year. He’s completely dominated the airwaves thanks to some truly fantastic guest work – from his killer hook on Olamide’s “Kana” to his standout chorus on Skepta’s “Energy (Stay Far Away)”.
Well, with his fans still hungry for more music from him, the Starboy took to Twitter to tease the release of his first single of the year, and it looks like that track might actually be helmed by one of the hottest producers working today, Metro Boomin.
The singer merely shared a studio picture with the acclaimed American producer – who Forbes aptly dubbed “one of the most in-demand hitmakers in the world” – and our anticipation for the impending track is already through the roof.
While Metro Boomin has spent most of his career collaborating with some of the biggest artists in the world – Kanye West, Drake, Future and Post Malone – his most memorable work came last year in the form of Migos’ Grammy-nominated megahit, “Bad and Boujee”.
So with this unexpected, but very welcome, Metro Boomin team-up, it’s pretty clear that Wizkid is not taking any chances with his upcoming studio album, Made In Lagos. We will be waiting with bated breath to hear what magic these two juggernauts cook up.
